About the Author

At the forefront of the creative team is me — Tomas. After working for more than 10 years as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, I fell in love with board game creation. This passion grew into a board game about the history of my hometown, Marijampolė, which received recognition and was awarded as the best board game of the year in Lithuania. This encouraged me to move forward and establish a new company, Baltic Boar. Now, combining my new skills, I am ready to share my creations with players around the world.
2023 Lithuanian Game Awards

Marijampolė won awards in categories: Best Art Production and best Board Game.

2023 Pinecon Awards

Marijampolė won award as Best Lithuanian Board game. Mushroom War won an award of the Best Prototype.

A Game Born in Lithuania

Fish 'em Up was born in Kaunas, in the heart of Lithuania, at the annual gaming hackathon Global Game Jam. The idea for this game was inspired by the problem of pollution in the Baltic Sea. At that time, the first version of the game, titled "Light at the End of the Bubble", told the story of a giant bubble emerging from the depths of the ocean, which lifts the inhabitants of the Baltic Sea to the surface, full of garbage. In order to convey the impression of clean or polluted water, the early version was painted with watercolors. The game already attracted great interest at that time, which encouraged the author to take the further path of game development and publishing.
